Taking care of Linux
I think this is an important task, and one that's not yet as well known to me as taking care of the old Windows stuff. Here is an article with links that help:

Rescue, Linux style

Meanwhile I'm trying to decide where to spend my time. I'd like to have a site that's visitor-ready by the Christmas holiday, and I also have to keep in touch with them beforehand. Plus, there are a thousand other potential projects. I wish I could learn faster!

Rich's Mambo site

Mambo server installed. Once again I'm up stupidly late messing with it, this time entering content however. I'm kind of excited that this could be a very usable system, and I really hope I can garner some good concepts from this app.

Here's what I'd like to have on my web site:
- site news
- photo gallery
- discussion board
- blogger
- interests / projects sections
- documentation / learning resources

There are probably other things that I can't think of right now... like subsites. Right. Anyways, I hope I can do some of this stuff but I wanted to write down the basics here before I forget.

Oh... happy Thanksgiving! :-)

Installing Mambo Server

You know, I'm running in circles trying to install Mambo server. Things I've got to do:
- configure Apache
- configure PHP support for Apache (and zlib, apparently)
- configure mysql

Here's hoping each of these tasks isn't too tough!

Slashdot | How to Set Up a Gift Website?

This one piqued my interest. Content Management Systems for the masses are becoming a hot topic for the consumer world. Now that everyone's making this cool media, how do you assemble it into something that looks good on your personal my-name-dot-com website? :-)

Here's my public blogger post. I don't know what's going to end up in here but for now it's going to be rather general. So long as I'm using IE, I can comment on silly articles that I come across thanks to the google toolbar. :-)

Remember, be responsible with your blog posts. You could end up like this guy.
